A decade of strong relationship between UAE and France

On a recent visit to Abu Dhabi, Catherine Colonna, the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, was received by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The two leaders held a productive meeting to discuss their countries' relations and opportunities for expanding their cooperation.

The meeting, which took place in the UAE capital, saw the ministers discuss a range of topics, including regional and international events, and the importance of continuing their consultations and coordination on matters of mutual concern.

One of the key topics discussed was the energy sector, with both ministers emphasizing the significance of their countries' cooperation in this area. This is especially noteworthy given the strategic partnership agreement in energy that was signed by the UAE and France in July 2022.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed his warm welcome of Minister Colonna's visit and underlined the strong and deep-rooted relationship between the UAE and France. He also emphasized the desire of both countries to enhance their strategic partnership and broaden the scope of their cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and was followed by a luncheon hosted by Sheikh Abdullah in honor of Minister Colonna and her delegation.

Over all the meeting marks another important step in the strengthening of the relationship between the UAE and France, demonstrating their commitment to expanding their cooperation and working together to address regional and global challenges.
