UAE Unveils Ambitious National Investment Strategy to Boost FDI

In a significant move to solidify its position as a global investment hub, the UAE Cabinet, chaired at Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi, approved the National Investment Strategy for the next six years. This forward-looking initiative aims to enhance foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows and elevate the nation’s economic standing by focusing on key sectors.

A Vision for Growth

The newly approved strategy targets increasing annual FDI inflows from AED 112 billion in 2023 to a remarkable AED 240 billion by 2031. Additionally, it aims to grow the UAE’s FDI stock from AED 800 billion to AED 2.2 trillion, reflecting the nation’s commitment to sustained economic expansion and global investment attractiveness.

Strategic Focus Areas

The investment strategy prioritizes five key sectors:

  1. Industry – Strengthening the UAE’s manufacturing and production capabilities.

  2. Logistics – Enhancing infrastructure and supply chain efficiencies.

  3. Finance – Expanding financial services and investment opportunities.

  4. Renewable Energy – Accelerating sustainability initiatives and green energy projects.

  5. Information Technology – Driving digital transformation and innovation.
