After three years of dialysis and mounting health complications, the patient was given a second chance at life through this groundbreaking procedure. Unlike traditional kidney transplants, this case required a dual kidney transplant due to the limited functionality of the donor kidneys, a scenario that arises when kidneys from deceased donors are unable to independently meet the metabolic needs of the recipient. Abu Dhabi to ban single-use Styrofoam products from June 2024

Image
Looks like Styrofoam cups, plates and takeout containers are getting the boot in Abu Dhabi. Some things like reusable storage boxes and coolers made of it can stick around though.  This expands on Abu Dhabi's single-use plastic policy from a couple years ago. That led to plastic bags being 86'd from stores last summer, which supposedly caused usage to drop almost 95%! Pretty impressive. Seems the city is serious about sustaining sustainability as part of the whole "Year of Sustainability" campaign.
