The leaders of the UAE and Qatar met yesterday in Abu Dhabi to discuss some important regional issues. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad addressed the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which has created a great deal of suffering for innocent people living there. Both expressed a desire for an immediate ceasefire so civilians are protected from further harm.  The talks covered potential diplomatic solutions to end the crisis in a sustainable and long-lasting manner. This would involve a two-state solution granting Palestinians self-governance within agreed borders. Ideas put forth by American President Biden to de-escalate tensions were also examined. Beyond addressing the pressing humanitarian situation, the meeting focused on strengthening ties between the UAE and Qatar. They explored ways to boost cooperation across different sectors.   Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), today received Dr. Sultan Al Mansouri Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the UAE, at the Council's headquarters in Abu Dhabi. They talked about how the UAE and Qatar have a good friendship.  also  discussed the distinguished bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries, and the role of parliamentary diplomacy in serving national issues and strengthening security, peace and stability. Al Mansouri also said that the UAE and Qatar are friends. He said that Qatar wants the friendship to get even stronger. They want to cooperate more in different areas. This will benefit both countries and their people. The meeting was about maintaining the strong friendship between the two countries through cooperation between their Parliaments.
