The UAE is one of the leading countries in supporting plans and policies to protect the environment and tackle climate change, with a range of initiatives and achievements including a major shift to renewable energy and a focus on improving sustainability in their development projects. Some time ago, the United Arab Emirates started to switch to solar energy and based on it built solar power complexes to generate electricity. dr Ibrahim Ali, Chairman of the Friends of Environment Association, an environmental expert, said: “The UAE has developed a plan that aims to make the UAE one of the top five countries in the world in all areas, including sustainability, since the beginning of the Plans in government institutions and in the private sector, and various initiatives have emerged to achieve sustainability.
