Climate action is an essential, urgent priority for achieving sustainable economic growth in the region
Mohamed Bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Finance Affairs, attended the “Finance Day” held yesterday on the sidelines of COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini stressed the UAE’s commitment to climate issues, which is reflected in its acceptance of the COP28.
He pointed out that climate protection is an urgent priority and essential to achieve sustainable economic growth in the region. “Climate problems are a global problem. The international community must take all necessary measures to recover from the climate impact and encourage investment in climate finance and green projects such as clean energy and green infrastructure to achieve sustainable economic and social development,” he said. This comes on top of increased project preparation and de-risking in financing clean energy projects in developing countries, as well as increased partnerships and promising investment opportunities between the EBRD and the UAE’s public and private sectors
