The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has taken a proactive stance in addressing the humanitarian crisis facing Lebanon, providing continuous support through its “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign. This initiative, directed by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, recently marked its fifteenth flight carrying 40 tonnes of essential food supplies, primarily targeted to assist Lebanese children. The campaign highlights the UAE’s commitment to Lebanon, delivering crucial resources to families facing unprecedented challenges.

Strengthening UAE-Lebanon Relations through Humanitarian Efforts

The UAE’s support to Lebanon, facilitated under the watchful guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, along with H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, emphasizes the UAE’s dedication to long-standing regional relationships. The leadership has ensured that UAE’s humanitarian aid reaches Lebanon in a timely and efficient manner through air and sea.

This latest shipment is a part of a broader series of ongoing initiatives that have delivered 672 tonnes of aid since early October 2024. These continued efforts underscore the UAE’s profound dedication to support Lebanon’s people, in line with the UAE's guiding values of compassion, unity, and social responsibility.

A Legacy of Compassion Rooted in UAE Society

The UAE’s response to Lebanon’s crisis reflects the country’s enduring legacy of compassion set forth by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, UAE’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations and member of the UAE’s International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, emphasized that the nation’s leadership remains steadfast in prioritizing humanitarian relief. Al Shamsi explained that the UAE’s mission goes beyond simply delivering supplies—it embodies the humanitarian values deeply ingrained in UAE society, aiming to inspire hope, dignity, and resilience within affected communities.

UAE’s Humanitarian Impact in Lebanon and Syria

The UAE’s comprehensive humanitarian strategy involves air and sea deliveries of essential supplies, such as food, water, and medical equipment, reflecting a robust and multi-faceted response to Lebanon's ongoing crisis. The UAE has also provided aid to Syrian citizens returning from Lebanon to Syria, aiming to foster security, promote stability, and aid recovery in the broader region. Emirati humanitarian institutions, charity organizations, and logistics teams work together to ensure a seamless flow of aid from the UAE to affected areas in Lebanon and Syria.

In total, the UAE’s contributions to Lebanon and Syria have now reached 2,772 tonnes of relief materials, underscoring the country’s extensive commitment. The UAE has dispatched 772 tonnes of supplies to Lebanon and Syria through air bridge operations, while an additional 2,000 tonnes were recently transported to Beirut via a UAE relief ship, reinforcing the UAE’s dedication to standing with Lebanon during this crisis.

UAE’s Air and Sea Bridge Operations: A Vital Lifeline for Lebanon

The UAE’s air and sea bridge operations are instrumental in delivering timely assistance to Lebanon. With each flight and ship carrying essential resources, the UAE ensures that help reaches those who need it most. These operations exemplify a collaborative approach, where UAE aid agencies, volunteers, and support teams work in unison, backed by the vision of the UAE’s leadership.

This sustained support from the UAE plays a vital role in stabilizing affected communities and strengthening the Lebanese social fabric, which has been strained by economic and political challenges. In addition, the UAE’s aid programs promote economic resilience by supporting essential services, ultimately fostering a healthier and more self-sufficient Lebanese society.

The UAE’s Broader Vision for Regional Stability

The UAE’s humanitarian response to Lebanon’s crisis is a testament to its vision for a stable, peaceful, and prosperous Middle East. The UAE stands committed to alleviating the struggles of neighboring nations while setting a standard for humanitarian excellence on the international stage. By fostering economic and social resilience in Lebanon, the UAE is making strides toward a region united in stability and growth.

The “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign not only provides immediate relief but also instills hope in the Lebanese people, reinforcing the shared values of friendship, empathy, and unity. The UAE’s approach to aid prioritizes sustainable impact, enabling the Lebanese to rebuild their lives and regain their strength amid adversity.

A Pledge for Continued Support

As Lebanon faces ongoing hardships, the UAE’s message is clear: it will continue to stand in solidarity with Lebanon. Through the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the coordinated efforts of UAE’s humanitarian agencies, the UAE remains steadfast in its commitment to serve those in need, providing aid that addresses both immediate and long-term needs.

The “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign symbolizes the UAE’s broader mission to support peace and stability, not only within the region but globally.
