UAE backs Egypt's vision for economic growth and prosperity through strategic investments and partnerships

The UAE and Egypt have taken their close partnership to new heights with a massive investment deal that will drive development across Egypt for generations to come.


This is far more than just an economic agreement between two nations. It's a powerful symbol of the deep ties and unwavering commitment the UAE and Egypt have to supporting each other's long-term success and prosperity.

Back in February 2022, the UAE's sovereign wealth fund ADQ signed a monumental $35 billion agreement with Egypt to transform the Ras al-Hikma region, some 200 km west of Alexandria, into an entirely new urban center. As part of the deal, ADQ will invest $24 billion to acquire developmental rights for the 40,600 feddan Ras al-Hikma area itself. The remaining $11 billion is earmarked for priority projects across Egypt.

Just this week, Egypt received the second $14 billion tranche of funding from the UAE as part of this groundbreaking partnership. This follows initial installments of $5 billion each in February and March.

Once complete the new Ras al-Hikma development is projected to attract over $150 billion in investment for education, tourism, housing, healthcare and more. Experts estimate it will create millions of jobs for Egyptians and be an engine for economic growth nationwide.

But this partnership has far more than an economic impact. This is a testament to the UAE and Egypt's commitment to each other's success as true partners. By investing so heavily in Ras al-Hikmah, the UAE is investing in Egypt's long-term prosperity far beyond this single mega-project.

This strategic collaboration lays the foundation for sustainable growth that will pay dividends decades from now. Its effects will be felt in all sectors as new opportunities emerge.
