EgyptAir Takes Proactive Steps Against Illegal Activities: Stricter Travel Regulations for Under-18 Passengers

 

EgyptAir, the prominent national carrier, has implemented stringent travel regulations for passengers under the age of 18 departing from Egyptian airports, effective January 1. The decision, aimed at curbing illegal immigration and human trafficking, underscores the airline's commitment to prioritizing passenger safety and security.

Under the new guidelines, travellers under the age of 18 must now have an adult companion or obtain prior security clearance to proceed with their journey. EgyptAir has introduced a formal request process, requiring underage passengers to submit their application in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

The submitted requests will undergo a meticulous investigation, including a thorough review of the applicant's criminal record. The decision to approve or deny the application will be contingent upon the outcome of this comprehensive review.

Sports teams with underage members are exempted from the formal request requirement, provided that their clubs have completed the necessary travel procedures. This exception aims to facilitate the movement of young athletes while maintaining the necessary security protocols.
