As Cyclone Michaung strikes the coast of India, tragedy is left in its wake.

Cyclone Michaung's destructive might, which lashed the coast of India on Tuesday, has claimed at least 13 lives. Devastating winds and torrential rain were carried by the cyclone, which left a path of devastation in its wake.

A four-year-old child tragically perished when the wall of his Tiruptai district home collapsed as a result of strong winds that pounded the coast of Andhra Pradesh. Tamil Nadu's coastal regions saw heavy rains, with Chennai, the state capital, being among the worst-hit places. The fact that at least 12 individuals died in rain-related events is a testament to how severe the storm's effects were.

Beyond just direct injuries, the hurricane claimed the lives of two people who were electrocuted and another who was killed by a falling tree. Chennai looked like a scene out of a catastrophe film, with people having to wade through dark, waist-deep floodwaters, cars being washed away, and a runway flooded. The city police put up a lot of effort utilizing rafts to get food packets to those who were stuck in low-lying regions.
