 The Dubai International Boat Show 2023, held recently at Dubai Harbour, was a resounding success, with prominent yacht manufacturers showcasing the latest sustainable innovations and advancements in the yachting industry. The 29th edition of the show saw a marked increase in the promotion of environmental sustainability, in line with the growing demand for greener yachts and an industry-wide movement towards protecting our oceans.

The Middle East's largest and most established boat show was a proud industry changemaker, with exhibitors showcasing eco-friendly materials and electric engines, as well as other solutions aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the yachting and water sports industries. Among the prominent distributors and brands leading the charge were Silent Yachts, JLS Training Institute, OKTA core, Magonis, Cummins Arabia, Sunkiss, Ocean 360, and the GEMS Education network.

One of the highlights of the show was the growing interest in electric engines, which are increasingly being seen as a viable alternative to traditional diesel engines. Yachts equipped with electric engines are not only more eco-friendly but also offer significant cost savings in the long run, as they require less maintenance and fuel consumption. Silent Yachts, in particular, garnered a lot of attention with its line of solar-powered luxury yachts.

Another noteworthy development at the Dubai International Boat Show 2023 was the growing use of eco-friendly materials, such as bamboo and recycled plastic, in yacht construction. These materials are not only more sustainable but also offer unique design possibilities. Magonis, for example, showcased its range of eco-friendly boats, which are made entirely from recycled plastic.

In addition to the exhibitors, the Dubai International Boat Show 2023 also featured a range of seminars and workshops focused on promoting environmental sustainability in the yachting industry. The JLS Training Institute, for example, hosted a series of workshops on sustainable yacht design, while Cummins Arabia held a seminar on the benefits of electric propulsion systems.
