The newly delivered fleet of five Saab GlobalEye AEW&C systems for the UAE could upgrade existing security relations and create new configurations of cooperation.

The fleets can improve regional partnerships as advanced surveillance and situational awareness capabilities extend beyond national defense.

Information Sharing: Given the cross-border visibility of GlobalEye, the UAE gets to see air and maritime activities close to neighboring countries. This aids in the open sharing of real-time data with allies- for example, intelligence on aircraft movements or suspicious boat traffic. The joint monitoring of these resources reassures its partners and deters potential threats.

Multilateral exercises: The UAE has demonstrated the value of multilateral training with past exercises that have brought forces from the Middle East together. GlobalEye greatly enhances the coordination and effectiveness of exercises due to its wide-area coverage. Partners will benefit from the chance to test integration with the UAE's state-of-the-art AEW&C network.

Coordination of response: Quick challenges may arise which are needed to be acted upon rapidly collectively across borders. GlobalEye provides for easy coordination by availing a common operational picture to concerned parties, thereby strengthing combined deflection of aerial intrusions or attacks targeting more than one state.

Regional security architecture: Over time, such interconnectedness might be the basis for more permanent regional security frameworks and joint command structures. The UAE is perfectly positioned to take a leadership role in conceptualizing new cooperative models for enhanced collective defense.
