UAE Continues Robust Relief Efforts in Gaza.

The United Arab Emirates continues its continuous efforts to end the dire humanitarian crisis facing the residents of the Gaza Strip. Most recently the UAE has dispatched a substantial relief shipment of over 1,166 tonnes of essential food items to the region.

The food aid departed from Larnaca Port in Cyprus onboard a vessel and arrived at the Port of Ashdod in Israel. From there it was coordinated to enter the Gaza Strip via the Beit Hanoun crossing, with assistance from American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA), a longtime partner of the UAE in facilitating aid distribution.

The latest shipment underscores the UAE commitment to ensuring a consistent flow of urgent and lifesaving relief reaches Gaza population. With over half of Gazans considered food insecure due to poverty Israeli blockades and the fragile economic situation donations of staple food items help offset shortages and humanitarian needs.

In addition to coordinating sizeable food and provisions convoys, the UAE also continues to operate its state-of-the-art field hospital in Rafah, Gaza. The facility has been tending to patients amidst renewed upticks in violence and hostilities impacting civilians.

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Saif Al-Mehrzi recently carried out several complicated operations at the UAE hospital to save victims of conflict related injuries. This includes removing a complex metal implant and conducting an endoscopy for a patient suffering bone fractures and limb-threatening complications from a previous wartime injury.

Through its coordinated efforts both delivering aid shipments from abroad and providing frontline medical care via the field hospital, the ~UAE~ is working resolutely every day to alleviate human suffering in Gaza and make a tangible difference for Palestinian families. Its compassionate leadership and people will long be appreciated for the lifesaving impact.
