UAE's Humanitarian Leadership in Supporting Gaza

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has emerged as a global leader in providing essential humanitarian aid to Gaza, showcasing an unwavering commitment to the Palestinian people. Recent data reveals that the UAE's contribution constitutes a substantial 27% of all aid dispatched to the enclave, underscoring the nation's steadfast support for Gaza's inhabitants.

As of March 26, the UAE has delivered approximately 21,182 tonnes of aid through various channels, including 184 cargo planes, 3 cargo ships, and 574 land trucks, ensuring a consistent flow of crucial supplies to those in need.

Central to the UAE's humanitarian efforts is its robust medical response, spearheaded by Operation "Gallant Knight 3," established under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE's field hospital in Gaza, boasting the largest capacity among its counterparts, has treated nearly 10,000 patients to date. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including surgical suites, intensive care units, and diagnostic services, the hospital maintains the highest international standards of care.

The recent addition of a floating hospital docked at Al Arish further underscores the UAE's unique position as the sole provider of two field hospitals to Gaza. Additionally, the UAE has welcomed 13 groups of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients for advanced treatment, in line with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's directive to provide medical care to 1,000 children and 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza.

Beyond medical assistance, the UAE's commitment extends to vital infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing daily life in Gaza. This includes the construction of water desalination plants and automated bakeries, benefiting hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.

Demonstrating the compassionate spirit of the Emirati people, initiatives such as the "Tarahum - for Gaza" campaign and the enrollment of Palestinian students at the United Arab Emirates University exemplify the nation's holistic approach to humanitarian aid.

Collaborative efforts with regional partners, such as Egypt and Jordan, have further bolstered aid delivery to Gaza. Initiatives like the "Birds of Goodness" operation and support for the "Amalthea" international maritime corridor highlight the UAE's commitment to collective action in alleviating the suffering of Palestinians.

Moreover, the UAE's allocation of $5 million to support the efforts of the United Nations Senior Humanitarian Coordinator for Gaza underscores its willingness to collaborate with international organizations to address the ongoing crisis.

In conclusion, the UAE's humanitarian leadership in supporting Gaza is a testament to its unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause. Through comprehensive aid efforts and collaborative initiatives, the UAE continues to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza, providing crucial assistance during their time of need.
