Dubai’s RTA Collaborates with The Co-Spaces to Introduce Innovative Co-Working Concept at Burjuman Metro Station

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently unveiled an innovative co-working concept in partnership with The Co-Spaces, a leading business incubator known for its innovative solutions. The new venture, named WO-RK, is set to launch in the second quarter of 2024, offering a convenient and inspiring workspace located within the bustling Burjuman Metro Station.

The strategic placement of WO-RK within the Dubai Metro network emphasizes accessibility and sustainability. By integrating seamlessly with public transport options, including the metro, the initiative aims to reduce reliance on cars for commuting, thereby easing traffic congestion and lowering carbon emissions. This approach aligns with Dubai's vision of creating a sustainable urban environment while promoting efficient last-mile transport solutions.

Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director of Commercial and Investment at RTA, expressed pride in seeing the concept of co-working spaces materialize within the metro station. He highlighted the initiative's alignment with Dubai's urban development goals, emphasizing improved accessibility and integration. Al Hammadi noted the flexibility and innovation inherent in co-working spaces, which cater to the evolving needs of modern workers while promoting a healthy work-life balance.

The collaboration between RTA and The Co-Spaces reflects a shared commitment to innovation and community engagement. Shahzad Bhatti, founder of The Co-Spaces, underscored the significance of this partnership in shaping the future of workspaces. He emphasized WO-RK's role in providing a unique blend of convenience, flexibility, and community engagement, all essential components for fostering a dynamic work environment.

WO-RK distinguishes itself not only through its physical workspace offerings but also by providing essential business support services. These include assistance in obtaining mainland licenses, Ejari, and business addresses, streamlining the setup process for businesses. Moreover, the co-working space facilitates the growth and development of its members through educational programs and mentorship opportunities.

Community engagement lies at the heart of WO-RK's ethos. Shared spaces are designed to encourage socialization, fostering connections among members through shared meals, meetings, and networking events. The co-working space further enhances community spirit by organizing various events, workshops, and classes, thus nurturing a sense of belonging among its diverse members.

As WO-RK prepares to launch its trial phase at Burjuman Metro Station, RTA and The Co-Spaces anticipate expanding this innovative concept to other strategic locations along the metro network. By reimagining traditional workspaces and promoting collaboration, accessibility, and sustainability, WO-RK heralds a new era in Dubai's evolving urban landscape.
