President Zelenskyy of Ukraine makes his first trip to Latin America with a historic visit to Argentina. The goal is to engage in foreign diplomacy rather than just ceremoniously attend President-elect Milei's inauguration. Zelenskyy's engagement with the Global South, especially with Latin America, Africa, and Asia, indicates a strategic change in Ukraine's foreign policy. 

The emphasis on fostering relationships is in line with initiatives to win support against Russian aggression. Divergent positions, particularly with regard to Ukraine's backing of Israel, present difficulties, necessitating a careful diplomatic balancing act. Zelenskyy is pushing for a "global peace summit" and a peace plan, and the result might have a big effect on Ukraine's reputation abroad. There's an additional degree of complexity due to the next EU meeting, which will decide on discussions with Ukraine.
