French President Emmanuel Macron has issued a powerful plea for peace in the Middle East, calling for a humanitarian pause in Gaza and urging countries to work towards an urgent ceasefire. Speaking at a Parisian humanitarian conference, Macron emphasized the indispensable and non-negotiable need to protect civilians, asserting that all lives have equal worth.

Macron condemned the trap of terrorism, highlighting the shared responsibility to resist violence and uphold universal values. The president stressed that fighting terrorism must adhere to established rules, with Israel understanding this fundamental principle.

In addition to the immediate call for a ceasefire, Macron urged a revival of diplomatic efforts to achieve a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians. He acknowledged the need to learn from past errors and break the cycle of deferred peace in the region, emphasizing that peace in the Middle East should no longer be perpetually postponed.
