Zayed University's Sustainability Surge: A Beacon of Hope for a Greener Future

Over the past year, Zayed University has witnessed a near-quadrupling of students in its sustainability program, with numbers soaring from 52 to 207. This surge in interest is not isolated but closely connected to the global shift towards sustainability and the urgent need to combat climate change.

Dr. Suzanna Elmassah, the head of the program, rightly acknowledges the UAE government's role in fostering this change. Their commitment to sustainability has not only set a compelling example but has also acted as a driving force for students to engage with this critical issue.

The objective of the sustainability program is two-fold: education and mobilization. Students are provided with a comprehensive understanding of the science behind human impact on the environment. Equally important, they are empowered with the knowledge and skills to develop sustainable solutions. These future leaders learn to harness new technologies, create effective business strategies, and advocate for sound social policies.
