The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has taken an important step toward combating climate change by hosting the first-ever COP28 Presidency-led and Youth-led event, "Road to COP28," at Expo City Dubai. Under the auspices of H.H. The event, hosted by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aimed to provide young students aged 7 to 15 with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and combat climate change. 

The event began with interactive workshops aimed at inspiring and educating young people about climate change, its consequences, and the urgent need for action. The workshops also aimed to empower students to become climate change ambassadors in their communities and raise awareness about the importance of climate change action. 

The UAE has long been committed to climate action, and this event exemplifies its efforts to engage youth in the fight against climate change. The country has set lofty goals for reducing its carbon footprint, with the goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050. The UAE is investing in climate action as well as education through events like "Road to COP28," which is critical to achieving its climate goals. 

The strategic pillars of the event were education, innovation, and collaboration. The event aimed to inspire young people to take action on climate change through educational workshops, while innovation was highlighted through a showcase of new technologies and solutions that could help combat the crisis. Collaboration was emphasized as an important factor. 

The "Road to COP28" event takes place ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) in 2023. The UAE will take over the COP28 Presidency, and this event will help to raise awareness and build momentum for the conference. The event also emphasizes the UAE's commitment to setting a good example and involving young people in the fight against climate change.
