 According to Dr. Al Jaber, India's clean energy transition presents a significant economic opportunity for the country. With its increasing energy demand, India has the potential to play a leading role in the global transition to clean energy.

The demand for energy in India is growing rapidly, driven by economic development and population growth. To meet this demand, India has set ambitious targets for the deployment of renewable energy, including the goal of achieving 175 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2022. This goal not only helps the country address its energy needs but also presents a significant economic opportunity.

In conclusion, Dr Sultan AlJaber stressed the importance of coming together to act on empowering the Global South with a just energy transition while keeping 1.5C alive, in his first international speech as COP 28 UAE President-Designate during India Energy Week
