Major Israeli-Emirates agreement signed to start jointly building health tech
Israel’s largest hospital has signed a strategic cooperation agreement to develop new healthcare technologies with scientists in the United Arab Emirates.
Sheba Medical Center focuses on innovations based on artificial intelligence. At a signing ceremony in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Yoel Har Even, director of Sheba’s international department, said the accord was one of the biggest steps in advancing medicine since Israel and the UAE normalized their relations through the Abraham Accords of 2020.” The Abraham Accords set a new paradigm for Sheba to realize his vision of “Hope Without Borders”.
This agreement embodies our commitment to support and learn from our neighbors in the Middle East. Sheba has partnered with the largest hospitals in Bahrain on research initiatives and signed a memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health to develop better healthcare services. .Plans for cooperation in the fields of stem cell research, infrastructure construction, cardiology, oncology, obstetrics, gynaecology, diabetes and fertility are already being drawn up as part of the G42 health agreement
The agreement is one of the biggest steps to advance medicine since Israel and the UAE normalized their ties through the 2020 Abraham Accords.
