    UAE has established an air bridge of humanitarian assistance to transport relief aid and shelter materials for those affected by torrential rains and floods in Pakistan. This assistance includes tonnes of food and health packages, various shelter materials, as well as urgent relief materials, delivered to provide urgent necessities to the affected population, especially vulnerable groups of women and children. UAE begins operating air bridge to provide aid to Sudan

    Under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the supervision of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the UAE has begun operating an air bridge to Khartoum to transport large quantities of relief aid and shelter materials for those affected by the torrential rains and floods in Sudan. The first aircraft has left the country, carrying 30 tonnes of various shelter materials, and will be followed by three additional planes. The planes will be received by the ERC delegation, which has already set base in Sudan to provide victims with support and assistance, and supervise the relief programme that has been underway for several days. The relief supplies include around 10,000 tents, 28,000 food and medical aid parcels, 120 tonnes of various shelter materials, as well as urgent relief materials, which will help improve the living conditions of the affected popul

Abu Dhabi increases school bus safety

  Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) says it is improving safety and security on school buses before the new academic year starts next week. Bus drivers must carry out daily maintenance checks on the vehicles, obey speed limits and ensure they keep to the designated routes as part of the two new initiatives. Drivers who fail to heed the stop signs on school buses will incur a fine of Dh1,000 and receive ten penalty points on their licences. They must stop at a distance of no less than five metres from the bus when the stop sign is activated.

Mohamed Salah sends donation to help rebuild Giza church

    Egyptian Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has donated three million Egyptian pounds ($156,664) to help rebuild a church in Giza where a fire on Sunday killed 41 people and left several others injured. Social media channels in Egypt were full of messages of gratitude to the footballer beloved by millions. The donation was confirmed by prominent Egyptian sports reporter Ibrahim Abdel Gawad, who joined many others in thanking Salah in a Facebook post. These included renowned cardiologist Dr Gamal Shaban, whose post, which was shared by thousands, included a part addressed to business mogul Naguib Sawiris.

    I found this interesting article today as the Emirates will etch its name in history books many times next year if its space missions go as planned. Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi will take on the Arab world’s first long-duration mission, while the Rashid rover could become the first Arab spacecraft to reach the Moon. The impending missions follow a string of achievements by the UAE, including reaching Mars with its Hope probe in 2021 and launching Hazza Al Mansouri, the first Emirati astronaut, into space in 2019.   Have you heard that Syrian   refugees in Lebanon can start   to return home   with support from the authorities, says a Syrian Cabinet minister. Lebanon, which has been experiencing its worst economic crisis since the civil war, hosts a million Syrian refugees who have fled the conflict since 2011. Calls for them to return home have increased during three years of financial crisis in Lebanon. The downturn has left three quarters of Lebanese people in poverty. “The doors are open for the return of Syrian refugees,” state news agency, Sana, quoted Syrian Minister of Local Administration Hussein Makhlouf as saying during a meeting with Lebanon's caretaker minister of the displaced in Damascus.

  I wanted to share  How Sheikh Mohammed   bin Rashid has hailed the   nation's youths , calling them its “hope and treasure” and urging them to take the future into their hands. The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai said investment in the talent of the next generation remained the UAE's greatest success. A new fish market in Mina Zayed

  Did you know that a new fish market has opened in Abu Dhabi's historic port area at Mina Zayed, which is undergoing major redevelopment. The new fish market, located next to the original one, features eight restaurants and 44 fish cleaning stations and commercial spaces. In addition to a supermarket, there are 104 fresh fish stalls, eight dry fish stalls, four fruit and vegetable stalls and three commercial kiosks. The redevelopment of Mina Zayed is being undertaken by Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) and Modon Properties.

A n Inspirational stories that  I wanted to share today is How a   vertical farm   being run by Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC) in the Dubai desert could play a vital role in tackling   food security   issues in the region, a senior figure said on Tuesday. The 330,000-square-foot farm near Al Maktoum International Airport is a joint venture between EKFC and Crop One, a firm specialising in technology-driven indoor vertical farming. It is estimated the vertical farm is able to produce more than one million kilograms of leafy greens each year, or more than three tonnes per day .
